US Open 2025 Preview: Odds Favor Sinner & Swiatek, At Least For Now

Men’s Showdown: “Sincaraz” Still Reigns

Defending champion Jannik Sinner, at No. 1 seed, is the leader of the men’s field and the betting favorite at about +105, followed by Carlos Alcaraz at +180.

Their rivalry, dubbed “Sincaraz”, has been the primary focus of men’s tennis – it has provided priceless Grand Slam finals and epic matches, with Sinner and Alcaraz battling it out in back-to-back majors.

The betting odds indicate the US Open final again could be an epic showdown with these two titans.

Novak Djokovic, with a long shot at odds (+1200), might play disruptor if he gets hot.

Women’s Spotlight: Swiatek vs. Sabalenka — Who’s It Gonna Be?

The numbers tell us that the most likely battle for the women’s crown is between Iga Swiatek (current odds of +250 – 280) who is peaking, and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka (+270).

However, the fresh-from-a-title recognition (Wimbledon) of Swiatek, and the fact Swiatek is seen as a threat (analysts of Sky Sports in particular), makes her formidable.

Sabalenka, especially if she can shake off not-finishers in previous Grand Slam tournaments this year, makes her a worthy contender.

Clutch Crunch Final Take

Men’s side: Is “Sincaraz” another chapter, or can Djokovic change the narrative?

Women’s side: Is Swiatek ready to capitalize on momentum from Wimbledon or can Sabalenka finally turn to a chapter? Make a hard-court breakthrough at the Open.

All signs are pointing at Sinner vs Alcaraz III in this generational battle. On the women’s side, it will be a tantalizing tug-of-war, between the near-faded prowess of Swiatek and the fierce determination of Sabalenka to remove her near-miss book-ends.
